Happy New Year!!

i cannot believe it is 2006 already. it's crazy. but i am glad it's a new year. cause i was ready to put 2005 behind me. the year was definitely one of the worst for me.

january- my dad started getting radiation to try and get rid of the tumour on the back of his throat. we also got a huge dump of snow and it got up to -55 with the windchill. it was crazy. i remember my parents came to pick me up from work and my dad had a heck of time trying to get on our street. people were getting stuck everywhere. it was crazy.

february- my best friend ash moved to calgary. she drove down there and i went with her and then spent the week with her. it was fun but sad to leave knowing that she was going to be living there from now on.

march- since the radiation didn't work, my dad had surgery on March 8 to remove the tumour. it took 13 hours and it was a really long day. i remember seeing him after, he looked so sad and he was hooked up to all these machines. it was really hard to see him like that. and he stayed in the hospital that week but couldn't really talk cause he had a tube down his throat. but i was glad when he was able to come home since i hate hospitals. i also started dating Derek.

april- i finished up the semester but not very well. i didnt do as well because i was too worried about my dad. but i passed everything which is good.

may- not a whole lot happened. although near the end of the month, Derek and i broke up. which i was sad about at the time. but now it doesn't bother me.

june- i went to my cousin's stagette party and her wedding shower. those were fun. i don't really hang out with my cousin's that often so it was nice to spend some time with them. but unfortunately my dad was also starting to have lots of problems with his feeding tube. he kept having to get them changed. and then on june 30, he went into the hospital because he was throwing up. and that day he was supposed to just go to the cancer clinic to get checked. that was also the last day that i would ever have a conversation with my dad. i had gotten a bad feeling about him going and i didn't want to go to work that night but i did anyways.

july- on july 1, my cousin kerry got married. me and my mom and brother went to the church part and then afterwards my mom went back to the hospital. after the church, we went to my grandma's house and then my mom called to tell us that the cancer had come back and that my dad wasn't doing good. so my aunt and uncle drove me and kyle to the hospital. and i'm glad that we went. cause that night my dad took a turn for the worse and they had to call a code blue into his room because he stopped breathing. we almost lost him that night. but he held on thru the night but on july 2, around 6:30pm, he passed away. that was the worse day of my life. i just couldn't believe that he was gone. it was really hard to come back to the house that night. so about 4 days later we had his funeral and you wouldn't believe the amount of people that came out for it. i couldn't believe it. i believe there was like almost 800 people there. they could barely fit everyone into the funeral home. they said it was one of the biggest funerals they had, except that sandra schmirler's was bigger. so i felt kind of honoured that so many people came out to pay their respects to my dad and i know that he was well known, especially in the uplands community and with sasktel.

also in july, me and my mom and brother drove to calgary. i stayed with ash, kyle stayed with stu and mom stayed in innisfail with my aunt and uncle. i think we all needed to get away for a little bit.

august- not a lot happened in august. i mostly worked and celebrated my birthday. i met jordan and clint and as of right now, only talk to Clint still.

september- i went back to calgary right before school started because me and ashley went to see the BACKSTREET BOYS!!! it was so awesome. we even got to meet Pollyanna, howie's sister so that was cool. we were kind of far away at the concert but still, getting to be in the same building as them as awesome. i hope they come back to either calgary or saskatchewan soon cause i want to go and see them again.

i started school in september and one of my classes i was taking eps 100, which is an education class. i met some really nice girls in this class and i'm sad that the semester is over and i don't get to see them anymore.

i also met chad and chris during this month but sadly they both turned out to be jerks who only wanted 1 thing from me and i didnt want to. so i don't talk to them anymore.

october- i started going to Judge Bryant school for 7 half days and working in a grade 7 classroom with another girl from my class named Brenna. it was so much fun at this school. i had a great time. i was sad when our last day came. it really did help me realize that even though it's a lot of work, i really do still want to be a teacher. my mom also went to cuba at the end of this month, which was nice for her to get away.

november- i was so stressed out by this semester that i didn't know if i would make it to the end. i had 12 assignments due in one month and they weren't little ones either. they were all papers so it sucked. i also decided this month not to meet guys off the internet anymore cause i kept meeting all the ones who turned out to be jerks. plus school was more important even though i do miss being in a relationship.

December- i got thru finals and passed all my classes. and christmas has come and gone.

so yah that was my year. i just hope that 2006 brings me a little more happiness than 2005 did. maybe i will finally meet the right guy for me and do well in school. and maybe even find a new job, since i am starting to get sick of Zellers.

there are a few things planned already that i am looking forward too. first of all, the winter semester starts this thursday so i'm looking forward to seeing what my classes are all about. and i really hope to be able to focus and raise my average. cause it hasn't happened lately. on jan.13-14, my mom and i are going to the MooseJaw spa. we get to spend the night there, we get $20 for the casino and get to go to both the tunnels. so that should be a relaxing night. and then from feb.17-22, i am going to fly to calgary and spend some time with ash and try and see my cousin's new baby girl that she just had on dec.30. it will be nice to get away from the city for a few days. and on Feb.26, along with my mom, chelsey(brother's gf), her mom, my aunt and my cousin, we are going to see Melissa O'Neil(winner of canadian idol) and Rex Goudie(runnerup in canadian idol) at the centre of the arts. we got 2nd row tickets, so that should be exciting.

finally i will be getting closer to being done my first degree. by the end of this year i should only have like 3 classes left and then i'll be able to graduate in june 2007. and then i'll still have 2 years left in the after degree program for education.

i have joined Curves so i am hoping to lose some weight and start to eat more healthier. so hopefully i will see results from joining there.
