why can't my family have 1 year without tragedy?

we received bad news last night. my great uncle jimmy(who was my dad's uncle) passed away at supper yesterday. he had lung cancer. he's been sick for the last year but the last 6 months he has gotten even worse. he was at stage 4 which is the last stage before dying. i'm kicking myself cause yesterday my mom and grandma went out to Balcarres to visit with him and the rest of his family and i didn't go cause i had to go to school to work on this presentation. i'm thinking the funeral will be wednesday or thursday this week. so this won't be fun. and we still haven't hit the year mark for my dad's passing. i just want 1 year without a tragedy in my family.

well i have some good news. i met Brad last night and we are officialy dating. he's a really nice guy, cute too. i'm kind of glad he's not skinny and scrawny like the rest of the guys i've dated. and he thinks i'm really hot. i always tell him he's wrong but apparently i'm not allowed to think i'm ugly in front of him lol but i tell him i think he's hot and he doesn't think he is. but he is. and he's got the nicest smile and smells good and is a really good kisser. :) i'm going to take him next saturday to jenn glennie's bf's birthday party so some of my friends can meet him. and i think that my mom will like him too. the only sucky thing is he lives half an hour out of town but pretty much the first 9 months of dating Rob, i traveled half an hour to go out to his place. he hardly came into the city. so i think i can handle it with Brad. we are going to try and take things slow and not rush into things cause neither of us wants to screw it up. besides we are both busy with work and he does other things, like ride his motorcycle and i have school. but we'll make sure to find time for each other. i'm looking forward to this new relationship.

so now i have a new job, a new car and a new man lol despite last night, this might be a good year after all.

well i have to get ready for work.
